Music

Singer. Musician. Songwriter. Composer.

Kristal Duval is a multi-talented artist known for her prowess as a singer, musician, songwriter, and composer. Her primary instrument is her remarkable voice, boasting a 3.5-octave range mezzo-soprano. In addition to her vocal abilities, she is proficient in playing several musical instruments, including piano, violin, guitar, and harmonica.

My musical journey began at seven, when I started piano lessons and singing in the choir. It was my mother’s dream for me to become a great classical musician, and I embraced it wholeheartedly. I trained in opera, developing a 3.5-octave mezzo-soprano voice and a solid classical foundation. I also worked in Musical Theatre, singing in opera choirs. But as I grew, I began to feel the pull of something different—an urge to break beyond tradition. The worlds of jazz, blues, and rock called to me, offering the freedom and raw emotion I was craving.

Rock music, in particular, has always held a special place in my heart. My father, a drummer in a rock band in Germany, introduced me to its powerful rhythms, and I quickly fell in love with the energy it exudes. While opera taught me discipline, it was in rock and blues where I truly found my voice—raw, unrestrained, and brimming with emotion.

Today, I refuse to be confined by genre. I let the music lead me, allowing each piece to evolve naturally, fueled by emotion and authenticity. Whether composing, performing, or collaborating, my music remains a reflection of truth—intuitive, heartfelt, and unapologetically my own.

Blues first ma man, blues first.

Let’s play some blues ma man.
Here’s ma treasures.
Cmon. Waiting fo ya'll in da blues house.
