Inner Balance
Have you ever been told, “You should choose yourself more”? It’s become a mantra in our fast-paced world, echoed in self-help books, podcasts, and heart-to-heart conversations.
But what does it really mean — especially when our souls are constantly touched by sunsets, warmed by human connection, and awakened by life’s countless wonders?
For me, putting myself first has always felt a little foreign. From childhood, many of us are taught virtues like kindness, compassion, and selflessness. Those values shaped me, and I still hold them close.
I love diving deep into each moment, feeling the rhythm of life, savoring the magic in seemingly ordinary exchanges. Life, after all, is a mosaic of fleeting, precious instants.
Yet reality isn’t always so poetic. Sometimes, challenges loom so large they feel unbearable. In those stretches of vulnerability, choosing myself begins to make sense. It becomes an anchor — a way to regroup and recharge when life’s storms grow relentless.
But here’s the truth: choosing yourself doesn’t mean self-absorption. It’s about balance. It’s the gentle art of knowing when to give yourself fully to the world and when to retreat inward, listening to your own needs. When we nurture our spirit, we return stronger, more vibrant, and more capable of embracing the world with love.
Life is a dance — with bright beats and quiet pauses.
So I wonder: how do you balance your inner calling with the world’s symphony? When do you dance freely under the vast sky, and when do you pause to hear your soul’s whispers?
